Silver & Black Give Back is the nonprofit partner of the Spurs Sports & Entertainment family of teams; the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), Rampage (AHL), Stars (WNBA) and Austin Spurs (NBA Developmental League). For over 25 years, our players, coaches and staff have been focused on fostering young talent and enriching the community by encouraging local youth to become responsible adults and give back. By offering youth sports programs, such as the Spurs Youth Basketball League, and youth-led service programs like the Team Up Challenge, we’ve invested in and empowered hundreds of thousands of young people. Together we have the power to empower!

San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs will celebrate their 40th Anniversary during the 2012-13 season. Over the last 15 years the Silver and Black have enjoyed a tremendous amount of success. Since Tim Duncan joined the team in 1997-98 the Spurs have captured four NBA Championships and have posted the best regular season winning percentage (.702, 830-352) of any team in the four major sports (MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL). During that time San Antonio has posted the NBA’s best record four times (1998-99, 2000-01, 2002-03 and 2011-12) and has won nine division titles. Since the 2000-01 season, the Spurs have posted 50-or-more wins in 13 consecutive seasons, the longest such streak in NBA history. San Antonio Stars
In 2003 the Utah Starzz, one of the WNBA’s founding franchises, relocated to San Antonio and became the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Silver Stars enjoyed the best season in franchise history during the 2008 campaign when the team posted a 24-10 record and made their first trip to the WNBA Finals falling to the Detroit Shock in three games.
The Silver Stars are currently one of 12 teams comprising the WNBA, which celebrated its 16th season in 2012. Created on April 24, 1996, when the NBA Board of Governors approved the concept for a women’s league, the first WNBA game was played in June 1997. San Antonio Rampage
The San Antonio Rampage celebrate their 11th season in 2012-13 and serve as the top American Hockey League affiliate for the Florida Panthers. The Rampage are one of 30 AHL teams competing for the Calder Cup. San Antonio posted a 41-30-3-2 record during the 2011–12 season. For the first time in franchise history, the Rampage won a playoff series, defeating the Chicago Wolves in a dramatic five-game series to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.

The Austin Spurs enjoyed their best season in franchise history in 2011-12, highlighted by winning their first NBA D-League Championship defeating the Los Angeles D-Fenders in a best-of-three series. The Spurs posted a franchise-best 33-17 during the regular season and were a league-best 18-4 at on their home floor at the Cedar Park Center.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment purchased the team on June 28, 2007. The NBA D-League, founded in 2001, is the NBA’s official minor league, featuring 16 teams with direct affiliations to NBA franchises, the NBA D-League is a proven developer of talent: 27 percent of players in the NBA at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season boasted NBA D-League experience, and the league continues to develop coaches, referees, and front-office staff for the NBA and its teams.
